Find out a little about our in-house arranger and his work.

Rob Collinson
was born in the North East of England. Originally a cornetist, he played with a number of bands in the North East before turning to conducting and
composition.  As a conductor he achieved considerable success.

He studied Music at the University of Hull and further study at the University of Durham.  He moved to Yorkshire for employment as a teacher. At this time he worked as a trumpet player in a semi-professional capacity for dramatic productions.  His composition work is varied and not confined to the world of brass bands. His work has included the production of music for a series of therapeutic tapes, music for choir, string quartet and wind ensemble with much of his output receiving performances, broadcasts and recordings.

His music for brass band has been performed and recorded by some of the biggest names in banding including Grimethorpe, Brighouse & Rastrick, The Ransome Band and The Leyland Band for whom he is currently Associate Arranger.  Rob has more recently become associated with the Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band and the Sheldon Theatre Brass Band from Minnesota, USA.

He is currently working on material for training bands, much of which will be available from us.
