Welcome to the Concert Music Page
A light hearted concert march composed for The Sheldon Theatre Brass Band from Minnesota, and named after the band's home town. The march was used by the band during the city's 150th anniversary. Not really easy, but effective.
A fast paced selection of melodies from the North East of England. The melodies include "The Lambton Worm", "My Bonny Lad", and "Keep Your Feet Still, Geordie Hinney". It was written for and performed by the Leyland Band during one of their concerts in the North East. Again, not too easy, but very effective.
A full band realisation of Faure's Love Song Without Words. This was Faure's first published composition, and makes a refreshing addition to the usual band concert repertoire. Very soothing.
A traditional melody from the North East of England arranged for Flugelhorn solo and band. It was written specifically for Janet Lewis and broadcast by her with The Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band on BBC Radio 2's "Listen to the Band". A simple melody with a sumptuous backing.
A light concert item. This waltz was commissioned as part of the music to accompany the "Lido Project" in York.
A relatively unknown piano work by Debussy. Sensitively arranged to produce this Brass Band realisation.
This is a whistle-stop tour of Yorkshire in musical terms. I contains four melodies associated with the county: "The Lass Of Richmond Hill", "The Grand Old Duke Of York", "Pratty Flowers", and "On Ilkley Moor..." The work is dedicated to the legendary Geoff Whitham.
